A total of 300 local retailers participated in Éco-fête NDG, organized by the Côte-des-Neiges/Notre-Dame-de-Grâce CDEC.
This year’s event had 240 stores displaying posters and ballot boxes for the grand draw. Another 60 merchants offered discounts from 15% to 2 for 1 on their products to anyone who showed an STM pass or ticket, sponsored by the Société de transport de Montréal, a new partnership in the event.
Sixty merchants provided gift certificates of $25 to shoppers who filled out ballots for the Aug. 25 draw. The event, promoting an active lifestyle, encourages citizens to use public transport, bikes and/or skateboards while shopping at CDN-NDG borough retailers. A total of 447 ballots were filled out to qualify for the gift certificates as well as a grand prize of $1000 worth of gift certificates at McWhinnies Bicycle Centre and Taloma clothing boutique. The grand prize was sponsored by the Caisse populaire NDG.
The winners, who were not on hand to accept their prizes, are Henry Ko, Lynn Kers, Caroline Guérin, Erich Reber, Dominique Paul, Roberta Cuttler, Karina Kaustinev and Cathy Humes. The $1000 grand prize winner is Ginette Lalonde.
Municipal, provincial and federal politicians were on hand to award the prizes.
